Officials proclaim social media a terrorist threat

The future of uncensored social media seems bleak, judging by the recent statements of FBI Director James Comey and Homeland Security Sec. Jeh Johnson. Following Obama’s summit on “violent extremism,” both Comey and Johnson warned the public of looming terrorist activity thanks to the extensive influence of social media.

While acknowledging social media’s contribution to society, Comey cautioned against its involvement in growing terrorist activity — particularly by working to “crowdsource terrorism” — especially in the United States.

These powerful statements from two of America’s highest-ranking officials should be cause for concern, especially if viewed in light of Hillary Clinton’s own admission of the United States’ defeat in the information war, as well as Zbigniew Brzezinski’s declaration of the “global awakening” derailing the New World Order.

Through social media, the public are kept informed of the latest news and updates all over the world, including information those in power would rather keep secret. While terrorism will always remain a threat, with these declarations, another threat in the form of censorship looms ahead.
