Gun manufacturers continue to move out of left-wing states, relocating to gun-friendly regions; this will be of great tactical significance during the coming civil war

When liberal politicians enact sweeping gun control laws (usually as a knee-jerk reaction to a mass shooting or some other gun-related tragedy), it has a negative effect on everyone. The citizens suffer because violent criminals are given a significant advantage over those who actually follow the law. Second Amendment advocates and Constitutionalists suffer because they are forced to watch their freedoms go down the drain. And finally, gun manufacturers suffer because it becomes incredibly difficult to do business.

One of these gun manufacturing companies is Weatherby, which announced at the 2018 SHOT Show that they intend on leaving the state of California, even though they have been based there since 1945. Citing a poor economy and strict gun control laws as their reasons why they will be leaving California, Adam Weatherby, the grandson of Weatherby’s founder Roy Weatherby, explained that the company’s new base of operations will be in Sheridan, Wyoming.

During the announcement, Weatherby revealed that a new concept that will be implemented at their new Sheridan, Wyoming location is expected to create numerous jobs with salaries of $60,000 per year or more. Wyoming Governor Matt Mead has been extremely supportive of the company’s decision, saying that the move was part of “not just making Wyoming a gun state, but The Gun State.”

But Weatherby is certainly not the only gun manufacturing company that has decided to move from a blue state to a red state. As reported by The Daily Caller back in 2013, “Several traditionally anti-gun states, and Colorado, have enacted laws that abuse the rights of the average citizen and offend their corporate citizens. The situation has led to an exodus of gun manufacturers to more friendly climes, with anti-gun states losing the significant tax revenue and jobs these companies provide.”

One of these companies is Magpul Industries of Erie, Colorado, which manufactures parts for the AR-15, accessories and magazines. In February of 2013, Magpul warned the state of Colorado that they would be leaving if a ban on standard capacity magazines passed. When Governor Hickenlooper signed the ban into law a month later, Magpul kept its word and set out in search of a more gun-friendly state like Texas. Another gun company that was forced to relocate as a result of strict laws and regulations is Kahr Arms of Rockland County, NY. After the S.A.F.E. Act was passed, Kahr announced that the company would be packing its bags and relocating to the more gun-friendly state of Pennsylvania. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Kahr Vice President of Sales and Marketing Frank Harris said that they just “don’t feel welcome” in the liberal state of New York.

Connecticut is yet another blue state that has driven away gun manufacturing companies. PTR Industries, for instance, is a company that produces semiautomatic rifles and was forced to relocate to Aynor, South Carolina after Connecticut enacted gun control legislation. Connecticut gunmaker Stag Arms and the Palmetto State have also considered doing the same thing. If a second civil war ever breaks out in America, whether it’s sparked by rising racial tensions, opposition to President Trump, or the all-out assault on the Second Amendment, one thing we know for sure is that conservative states are going to have a tremendous advantage. The more gun control laws that blue states enact, the more gun manufacturing companies there will be packing their bags and fleeing to red states. The existence of gun companies means that the people will be able to easily arm themselves, which will make all the difference should there ever be a second civil war.
