Had China Joe simply signed off on Texas’ request to up its energy generation maximum from 60 percent to full capacity in anticipation of the recent polar vortex disaster, the Lone Star State never would have suffered any blackouts. This is the claim of the @amuse account on Twitter, the owner of which also runs the news aggregation site “Deplatformed.”
While many of Texas’ “green” wind turbines failed upon freezing, the state could have made up for this loss by really pumping out the fossil fuels, which is prohibited under federal regulations, save for an exemption.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott apparently requested such of the Biden regime, only to be rejected despite the impending emergency. Consequently, millions of Texans suffered through days of no power in record-low temperatures, which injured and killed many.
“Once it was clear that the polar vortex would engulf the entire state of [Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott] declared an emergency and asked President* Biden for an EPA waiver to allow power generation facilities to operate at full capacity until the emergency passed,” the @amuse Twitter account explains.
“Biden’s [Department of Energy] refused Governor Abbott’s request and instead offered to allow certain power generation facilities a waiver if they raised the prices they charged to Texans to more than $1,500/MWh resulting in massive statewide power outages and a failure of the grid.”
To be fair, Texas did fail to properly winterize its energy grid, which meant that even natural gas pipelines froze and became inoperable. At the same time, there were other routes of energy delivery that, because Xiden refused to sign off on them, were never used.
Just as many suspected, Texas’ “independent” energy grid is controlled by the feds at the end of the day. Washington, D.C., decides how much energy Texas is allowed to produce, keeping a low cap in order to fight “global warming” and “climate change.”
“Gov. Abbott knew that if the [DoE] would allow our natural gas and coal power plants to operate at peak efficiency they could meet 110% of the demand the state faced last week,” @amuse added. “The [DoE] refused.”
Abbott could have told Biden to stick his regulations where the sun don’t shine and ramped up fossil fuel energy production regardless. Why he did not do this is unknown.
“Why didn’t @GovAbbott simply order all Texas power generation facilities to operate at peak efficiency and force Biden to send his army to Texas to stop us?” asked @amuse.
“Does anyone think Biden would have sent the army to shut down our natural gas power generation facilities?”
Immediately following the worst of the disaster, China Joe further refused Abbott’s request that Biden sign a major disaster declaration for 177 Texas counties. Beijing Biden has a whole lot of blood on his hands as a result.
“If President Trump had refused to provide disaster relief for 177 counties the Texas Tribune would be in each county sharing the stories of average Texans struggling to stay warm, feed their families, and pay their bills,” @amuse notes.
“Since Biden refused to provide relief: silence.”
To be clear, the Biden regime refused all requests from Abbott that would have helped Texans during the worst of the brutal storm. As a result, many suffered, others died, and still others are receiving exorbitant electric bills at rates of $1,500 per Megawatt hour (MWh).
“The media won’t look at evidence that the DoE refused the governor’s request to allow for additional power generation,” @amuse laments towards the end of his Twitter scroll. “Sick.”
