The solution to runaway gasoline inflation is to temporarily halt the federal gas tax, according to U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
Instead of doing away with the ridiculous tax entirely, Yellen would like for there to be a small “holiday” from the government scam in order to pacify the masses into believing that someone is looking out for them and their best interests.
According to Yellen, who appeared in a recent episode of ABC’s “This Week” program, Joe Biden “wants to do anything he possibly can to help consumers.”
“Gas prices have risen a great deal, and it’s clearly burdening households,” Yellen further rambled. “So he stands ready to work with Congress, and that’s an idea that’s certainly worth considering.”
Right now, the national price average for regular gasoline has reached a record high of nearly $5, according to the American Automobile Association.
Two Democrat senators, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Mark Kelly of Arizona, introduced legislation back in February to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax until next January. That legislation has yet to go anywhere.
“What I’ve been pushing for is, among other things, suspending the gas tax,” Hassan said on Fox News. “That helps put some more money back in people’s pockets.”
The Biden regime, however, is not in support of Hassan’s plan, which she described as “frustrating.”
According to the corporate-controlled media, suspending the federal gas tax could destroy “various infrastructure projects,” or so we are told.
In order to pass that bill, congressional action would, of course, be required. And that could be helped along by Biden, were he to speak out publicly in support of it, generating more momentum for getting it passed.
Americans seem to be asleep at the wheel, however, so it is unclear if the current regime is being pressed hard enough to end the tax, even just for the rest of the year.
The corporate-controlled media is reporting that the White House “economic team” has discussed the matter and is slated to meet again in the near future to figure out what to do next.
According to Biden himself, “nothing is off the table” when it comes to addressing skyrocketing gas prices. One thing he is doing is increasing the allowable percentage of corn ethanol in gasoline, which will damage millions of car engines and possibly force many people to stay at home due to excessive car repairs.
“Remember that mostly GMO, glyphosate-doused crops are used to make ethanol and biodiesel, which fills the environment with more glyphosate, making it completely unavoidable even if you avoid these products in food,” warned one commenter at Natural News.
“Increasing the use of corn ethanol will seriously harm our health, especially those living and working close to highways.”
Another wrote that putting food in the fuel tank “is insane, especially when food shortages are looming.”
“There has to be some constitution-supporting ‘citizens’ out there who have the authority to arrest and remove these traitors from office,” this person added.
Another chimed in that corn ethanol is energy negative, “especially with high diesel prices.”
“It takes more petroleum to plant, grow, harvest, ship, process corn into ethanol than you get back out,” it turns out.
Another major problem with Biden’s corn ethanol increase is that corn requires a whole lot of nitrogen-containing fertilizer in order to grow. And as of this year, fertilizer is becoming increasingly more expensive and hard to come by as global supply chains collapse.
