A chunk of land in Texas that is roughly the size of Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital, has become a massive resettlement zone being used by alien “migrants” who enter the United States illegally, say critics.
Located near the small town of Plum Grove in Liberty County just north of Houston, the resettlement zone, known as Colony Ridge, is reportedly becoming an illegal alien colony – hence the name – that experts and elected officials worry will become a strategic asset for cartels.
Spanning in size of more than 60 square miles, Colony Ridge currently has a population of somewhere between 50,000 and 75,000. And it is still rapidly growing thanks to a strategic marketing plan aimed at Texas’ Hispanic population.
Colony Ridge is located not too far from the wealthy Woodlands development on the outskirts of the Houston metropolitan area, which is known for its designer homes and lavish pools. Just a few minutes away from the Woodlands by flight is Colony Ridge, which the Daily Wire describes as containing “half-built homes, dilapidated trailers, and heaps of trash.”
“Houses on the ground fly the flags of foreign countries and many homes display their addresses on spray painted pieces of plywood,” writes the Daily Wire‘s Spencer Lindquist, describing what could be seen during a recent helicopter assessment by his employer.
“Many structures, some of which are not hooked up to running water, were under construction, while others were unfinished but didn’t appear to be actively getting worked on. At least one plot of land didn’t have any structures at all, just a tent in the corner, nestled between shrubs. Stray dogs without collars could be seen trotting along the side of the underdeveloped streets.”

Despite these apparently poor, third world-style living conditions, Colony Ridge is exploding with growth. It has become a “sprawling labyrinth of roundabouts and endless rows of sidewalkless streets, with empty plots waiting to be developed,” Lindquist further notes.
“The edges of the property are dotted with construction vehicles, each one tasked with cutting and clearing the surrounding forest to make way for yet more growth.”
Owned and operated by developer William “Trey” Harris, Colony Ridge, which is now larger in land area than the cities of Fayetteville, Ark., and Asheville, N.C., is being built on the back of a special financing arrangement that allows illegal aliens to buy land in Texas.
While American citizens are required to show healthy credit ratings and proof of income in order to even be considered for receiving a home loan, illegal aliens in Colony Ridge are able to circumvent these requirements and buy property due to the special treatment arrangement that has been established for illegals to plant roots in the Lone Star State – and they do not even have to show a social security number (SSN) in order to qualify.
“Because with a traditional bank loan you need to be able to show that you have a credit rating and proof of income,” says Todd Bensman, a National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration studies, in a quote to the Wire.
“The loan is directly from the developer, bypassing traditional mortgages,” Bensman added, noting that buyers at Colony Ridge are only asked to pay as little as a “few hundred dollars” as a down payment.
