Americans now live in a time where speech crimes and thought crimes are punishable, according to Owen Shroyer.
He made this observation during his Dec. 8 appearance on “The Alex Jones Show” on InfoWars. The network’s founder Alex Jones had Shroyer, who hosts “War Room” on the same network, for an interview.
“We are now living in an age in America where speech crimes and thought crimes are punishable. But they don’t just want to say, ‘Oh, we’re gonna throw you in jail for your speech,'” said Shroyer.
“They want to be able to make you change your speech in a 1984, Orwellian newspeak manner to say, ‘No, no, not only are you going go to jail, but we are also going to force you to apologize and retract your statements.'”
Shroyer was sent to prison for talking about the stolen 2020 election, and was even thrown in solitary confinement. Public pressure worked in getting him out of solitary confinement and out of jail. According to the Post Millennial, Shroyer was freed on Dec. 8 – the same day as the interview. The “War Room” host recounted that majority of his sentencing was all about his speech. One of his speeches that were cited had the line “death to tyrants” – which was on the state flag of Virginia. According to Shroyer, only actual tyrants would be offended by that statement.
He ultimately remarked that people will find that his sentencing memo is all about speech crime, and that the people who put him in jail don’t want him talking about the issues affecting America. This same reason, he added, is why Jones was censored on social media.
“It’s just like everywhere else. You’ve got people that hate our message, and you got people that love our message,” Shroyer said. “But the point is, people are curious. What is it that they don’t want us to hear?”
According to Jones, Shroyer is going to have a bigger voice and increased popularity following his persecution by the government and time behind bars. He then asked his guest what his main mission is now after his release from jail.
Shroyer answered that he wants to continue what he was doing before being sentenced, noting that a Streisand effect had taken place with his imprisonment.
“I want to continue to expose the corruption in our government. I want to continue to expose the corruption in our media, our mainstream media. I want to continue to expose the propaganda that exists everywhere in Hollywood, mainstream media, news media. I want to expose the corporate world government enslavement program that they have us all going into towards the Mark of the Beast.”
The “War Room” host also noted that aside from the inmates, a lot of the staff members at the Federal Correctional Institution Oakdale in Louisiana were very supportive of him and his cause. Given this, he said prison reform is a major issue that Americans need to address immediately in the country. Shroyer continued that at least half the people who are in the prisons right now probably don’t even belong there.
Shroyer also recalled reaching a low point about halfway through his solitary confinement. But he always remained steadfast and kept his faith in God, which helped him not to yield and break.
