A person appointed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to the state’s Department of Education believes that the United States is “irreversibly racist” and should be “overthrown.”
Brian Lozenski, an associate professor of urban and multicultural education at Macalester College in Saint Paul, was appointed to help write a statewide “implementation framework” for new “ethnic studies” classes in the North Star state.
Walz’s administration is pushing for “ethnic studies” to be integrated into social studies classes alongside teaching on citizenship, economics, history and related subjects. (Related: The COMMUNIST INFILTRATION of America’s educational curriculum and children’s minds.)
During a Zoom call in the spring of 2022, Lozenski described himself as a critical race theorist, admitting that critical race theory (CRT) is an anti-American ideology and is designed to dismantle the United States.
“The first tenet of critical race theory is that the United States as constructed is irreversibly racist. So, if the nation-state as constructed is irreversibly racist, then it must be done [away] with; it must be overthrown,” Lozenski said.
“We can’t be like, ‘Oh, no, critical race theory is just about telling our stories and diversity’ – it’s not about that. It’s about overthrow; it’s insurgent,” Lozenski reiterated, adding that while CRT’s critics “don’t understand” it, they “actually tell some truth” when they characterize it as “anti-state.”
“You can’t be a critical race theorist and be pro-U.S,” continued Lozenski. “It says the United States needs to be deconstructed, period.”
Lozenski is one of the leading voices in Minnesota who advocated for radically transforming the state’s curriculums to include ethnic studies in classroom discussions. He is also the main organizer and thought leader for other radical and left-wing advocacies.
Conservative voices in Minnesota for years have raised the alarm over the extremism of Lozenski and his associates. Walz has so far turned a deaf ear to those concerned over the rising radicalism among Minnesotans.
The ethnic studies implementation framework was supposed to be issued in time for a public comment period from Aug. 9 to 22. But no framework has been released thus far.
The latest public meeting of the committee that is forming the implementation framework happened on Sept. 24 but no framework was made. And it seems that there will be no public release or public comment period to submit a finalized ethnic studies implementation framework before the Oct. 31 statutory deadline.
There is good reason to believe that the implementation framework is being hidden from the public to keep it from becoming an issue in the coming election.
“Minnesota’s version of ethnic studies, known as ‘liberated ethnic studies,’ is more radical than that of any other state,” commented Stanley Kurtz, writing for the National Review.
